Work on site at No. 100 Peckham High Street
Work has started at 100 Peckham High Street, the ninth and final Townscape Heritage Initiative project. The ungainly first floor extension, built in the 1950s, will be removed, the first floor and roof will align with neighbouring buildings, and a new frontage is proposed. To the rear, the former British Boys’ School building, dating from 1871, will be repaired and retained. The work to this building will support the conservation of the picturesque terrace made up of 98 – 104 Peckham High Street, which will transform the historic townscape character of this section of Peckham town centre.
